Adolescents and Acne

May 13, 2010

Most adolescents today get acne. This appears mostly on their face, but can spread to the back and upper torso. Foods rich in fat and preservatives are contributing factors. Some children, when trying to tackle the many responsibilities of schoolwork and part-time jobs, are finding stress is also playing a role. Try yoga or meditation to relax.

Changing the way we look at food, and our diet, will dramatically reduce the outbreaks of acne. Locate natural food stores in your area. Eat more vegetables, whole grains, fruits and freshly made fruit juices and stay away from sweets that can aggravate the condition. Remember, the trick here is not to go hungry, but eat healthy foods. The more natural the food, the better the skin will look. Check all labels of the natural food you buy. Some natural food stores will sell food items that are better left untouched. Read all labels carefully.

Herbal medicine is the best way to help clear the problem quickly. Don’t use over-the-counter astringents, as they can cause sensitivity to the skin and make matters worse. Try using Blue Flag root, echinacea and Burdock root. These natural herbs claim the best results. The healthier you eat, the better your skin will look.
